The tree_lined:both=* key is similar to tree_lined=both, but allows expressing when both sides of a feature are lined with rows of trees that are mapped separately. See tree_lined=* for more information.

Values

Value Description
separate There are trees flanking both sides of the feature, and both of them are mapped separately using natural=tree_row or natural=tree.
yes There are rows of trees flanking both sides of this feature. Consider using tree_lined=both instead.
no There are no trees flanking either side of this feature. Consider using tree_lined=no instead.

Rationale

This key's most common value tree_lined:both=separate may express its intent more clearly — i.e., making explicit that a separate row of trees is mapped on both sides of the feature, whereas tree_lined=separate is ambiguous as it may be interpreted as covering both this case, as well as the case where a separate row of trees is mapped on only one side without specifying which side.
