Kivoon is a free public transport app for the Isle of Man, providing bus timetables, live bus tracking, and journey planning for all Bus Vannin routes and heritage railways (Steam Railway, Manx Electric Railway, Snaefell Mountain Railway).

Presentation

Kivoon uses OpenStreetMap data for bus stop data and route display. The app covers all 56 bus routes and 3 heritage railway lines operated on the Isle of Man, with timetable data sourced from official Bus Vannin schedules.

Features include:

  • Timetables for all Bus Vannin routes and heritage railways
  • Live bus positions via the findmybus.im API
  • Journey planning with departure times and connections
  • 937 stops across the island
  • Route maps rendered using OpenStreetMap tiles

The app is available on iOS and Android at no cost.

OSM data usage

Kivoon relies on OpenStreetMap for:

  • Base map tiles displayed throughout the app
  • Route polylines and stop positioning
  • Geographic context for journey planning
