Mapping Party is a boardgame designed and created by User:Wizrares for his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Computer Games Design at University Campus Suffolk.

Creation of the board

The board for the game has been generated using ITO Map software and uses OpenStreetMap data in order to render a custom chosen set of amenities in a chosen area. A hexagon grid is then overlayed over the data and filled with different colours, based on designer preference and the map key.

Game mechanics

The game is a territorial acquisition game for 2-6 players. Each player needs to gather as many points as possible in 15 turns of the game by playing a series of challenges in order to unlock the tags of the amenities on the map.
