MassGIS/Basemap Components

From OpenStreetMap Wiki

While the main MassGIS Basemap is usually all one wants or needs for editing, particularly in an in-browser editor like iD, MassGIS also provides image tile services broken out into their various components. This might be useful if integrating into other GIS or OSM editor software for such things as overlaying the MassGIS roads onto aerial imagery, or just looking at the topography without being distracted by other features.

Basemap with Parcels

This is just like the main Basemap except that it already includes overlaid on it the parcel boundaries (the property lines between real estate lots). You could get the same effect by taking the main Basemap and overlaying the transparent L3 Parcel layer, but if you need both of them together in one layer this has them precomposed:

Basemap Topographic

This is a map of just the topographic features:

Transparent (Overlay) Maps

information sign

These map layers all have transparent backgrounds, designed for overlaying onto other backgrounds.

Basemap Features Overlay

This is a map of just the detailed features, including roads, boundaries, points of interest, building outlines, and labels.

Map Features for Imagery Overlay

This is similarly a map of such things as roads, rail and ferry lines, boundaries, points of interest, and labels, but it is more specifically designed for overlaying atop aerial imagery. For instance, it doesn't include the building outlines.
