Open Waters: Seamap is a nautical chart-style web map using OpenStreetMap seamarks, coastline and waterways, combined with global bathymetry from Seascape and other open data sources. It is rebuilt weekly from OpenStreetMap data. It is intended for viewing and exploring marine data, not for navigational use.
It is particularly useful for visualising OSM's seamark tagging in a nautical-chart presentation, including buoyage, lights, hazards and maritime infrastructure.
Features
- Bathymetry – shaded depths, contours and spot soundings.
- Seamarks – buoys, beacons, lights, landmarks and harbours with nautical symbology.
- Marine features – traffic separation schemes, rocks, obstructions, offshore infrastructure, cables and pipelines.
- Light information – sector arcs and light characteristics.
Usage
Seamap is available as a web map at Open Waters Seamap. No installation is required.
The published MapLibre style and vector tiles can also be used in MapLibre GL, Mapbox-compatible software and other applications supporting MapLibre styles.

Contribute
Seamap is open source. Contributions to the chart rendering and software are welcome through the GitHub repository. Improvements to the underlying seamark data can be made directly in OpenStreetMap.
