Scope
Mapping house numbers and street names in various communities in Ghana.
The mappers are to be made up of local volunteers from various institutions and organizations.
Rationale
This project is to digitalize house number plates placed in front of houses to enable navigation to locations. This is to aid in navigation by individuals and location finding by ambulances, fire services, police, etc.

Method
- Local volunteers will go through the streets of the community and take a close-up shot of the house number plate in front of building. The location settings of the phone would be on before the picture is taken so each picture comes with the location information in its metadata.
- The image will, then, be uploaded unto Wikimedia Commons.
- Finally, using JOSM and the Wikimedia Commons plugin the images would be downloaded for the area in question. By means of the house number and street name printed on the address plate in the image captured, the house address will be mapped into OpenStreetMap(OSM).
