Philippines/Data import/DepEd Schools

The Department of Education Physical Facilities & School Engineering Division - School Mapping Unit (PFSED-SMU) conducted a nationwide mapping project to locate public elementary and high schools nationwide. Maning Sambale coordinated with DepEd PFSED-SMU regarding the access to the data with the intention of using this information to improve public school data in OSM.

DepEd PFSED-SMU provided spreadsheet and shapefile data of the school location. The data comprised of ~14,000 point locations nationwide of ~30% of all public schools in the country.

This page documents the process of data conversion with the end goal of using the processed data to update public school information in OSM.
