Luna Park Melbourne scenic railway.jpg

Pretty obvious feature. Though it would only be used in seldom cases, it would be nice having it.

Proposed value

<tag n='railway' v='rollercoaster'>

Opinion

"leisure => rollercoaster" might be more appropriate... you wouldn't want some catch all renderer suggesting it for commuting purposes :-P

although an entire rollercoaster key might be useful because then you could tag the type as well, and maybe certain features such as the station location etc. highway => queue_line might be quite revealing too. Perhaps an entire theme park tagging scheme?

What benefit would this bring? As navigation like church towers? Then surley people would see it, look at a map showing a theme park, and could guess that's what they're looking at.
Or are you thinking towards mapping lots of theme park details eventually? - LastGrape

Well, mapping a theme park would definitively be a mapping party :-D Ivansanchez 18:05, 14 September 2007 (BST)

great idea, but wrong category. this needs to be a part of attractions or tourism, definitely not appropriate here. Myfanwy 02:21, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Same oppinion here. --RalpH himself 16:43, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

There is a proposal for Key:attraction=* for various elements of theme parks. A rollercoaster is definitely one of those attractions and not rail transport... We would also need a tag for the entire amusement/theme park. Sakaal 19:13, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
