Definition: A ramp (or sometimes a pit) where vehicles can be inspected or repaired by their owners.

Proposal

A concrete or metal ramp, rarely a pit with stairs down, that is served for vehicle inspection and repairs.

Rationale

Dunno whether this amenity is available worldwide, but in ex-USSR countries, some trunk roads have such ramps distributed evenly (or not) along the road. This amenity is useful for car travellers.

Tagging

amenity=vehicle_ramp. Applies to nodes.

Other useful tags:

  • fee=yes/no - indicates whether access is free.
  • maxweight=* - max load
  • incline=yes/no - whether it's a ramp (yes, default) or just two horizontal tracks with a hole between them (no).

Rendering

A pic of ramp or a wrench.

Comments

Tagging linear objects (ways) would be useful too.--ZCC
