Tourism Information and Accommodation

Additional notes on using public transportation in Paris

Information provided by StC and Adrian_Shobrooke on community.osm.org

  • There are three different kinds of one-trip tickets: all metros and local trains, all buses and trams, and trips to/from airports. Ye,s you must pay two different tickets for a bus+metro trip.
  • You must buy a pass to put your tickets on (costs 2€) OR you can use your phone with the free Ile-de-France Mobility app. I recommend using the app at least when arriving from the airport or train station, so as to avoid long lines.
  • You can also load combined tickets on your passes or phones - check the app or web site.
  • The Mobility app also requires installation of a related ticket purchase app, and, as usual an account. Anyone traveling needs their own app, you can’t have another persons tickets on your phone. I found this site to be useful too with respect to travel from/to the airport.
