An official boundary defining an area used for statistical purposes.

The statistical boundary may include, or intersect, multiple other official boundaries (e.g. local government areas).

Examples include Territorial Units for Statistics, Regions of England, German statistical districts and the Subdivisions of the canton of Bern. This tag should only be used for officially recognised boundaries (e.g. by local or national governments) and not used for unofficial boundaries (such as geospatial boundaries in 3rd party apps).
