An unexploded ordnance area is an area in which may have active or possibly active ordnance from past or present military conflicts or from a military training area such as a bombing range. This tag can be used together with military=danger_area.

How to map

  • Tag an area area with boundary=hazard + hazard=unexploded_ordnance to indicate the area of unexploded ordnance. Typically the precise location of each piece of ordnance is not known. This tagging is applied to the declared area in which unexploded ordnance may be present.
  • If the area is also coterminous with a military area, it should also be tagged landuse=military + military=danger_area.
