State highway loops in Arizona are beltway freeways within the Phoenix metropolitan area of Maricopa County. These routes usually follow a x0x numbering pattern, starting with Loop 101, and ending at Loop 303. Despite the different signage, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and local governments still consider and refer to the Loops as regular Arizona State Routes. For example, Loop 101 is referred to as State Route 101 by government bodies and uses the "SR" prefix when abbreviated. See Arizona/Route Relations for detailed instructions on mapping Arizona state routes.
