place=subdistrict
is a subdivision of a district used for administrative or other purposes.
How to Map
When the subdistrict boundaries are unknown, it's possible to represent a subdistrict as a node tagged with place=subdistrict
along with name=*
.
If the boundaries are known, a more common approach is to map subdistricts using a relation tagged as type=boundary
, boundary=administrative
, and admin_level=*
.
When representing the subdistrict as a boundary relation, it is not recommended to use place=subdistrict
on the relation itself.
However, it can be included on a separate
-node to indicate the placement of the subdistrict label.
label
Refer to:
- Relation:boundary#Relation_members for detailed instructions on creating boundary relations and label nodes.
- Tag:boundary=administrative#10_admin_level_values_for_specific_countries for the recommended values of the 'admin_level' tag.
