Please, use surface=paving_stones / surface=sett / surface=unhewn_cobblestone / surface=rock / surface=stepping_stones for surface.

You can put material info into material=marble (paving_stones:material=marble can be also used for surface=paving_stones)

Was discussed in https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/type-of-stone-in-surface-surface-granite-and-similar/9424

Selecting surface value

surface=rock + material=marble for roads and paths where raw rock is a surface
surface=paving_stones + paving_stones:material=marble for stone machined into a flat surface

note, images (except first two) have placeholder images not depicting marble specifically - but form would be the same

surface=sett + material=marble for flattened stone, but still not entirely flat and not covering entire surface
surface=unhewn_cobblestone + material=marble for true cobblestone of natural, uncut, rounded stones
surface=stepping_stones + material=marble for stones or plates individually arranged in a row, allowing to walk on, surrounded by an unpaved medium such as grass or water
