@Nakaner: Any reason why you requested deletion of English page but not Russian translation? Which is also not changed for a long time ( [1] )?
Are you sure that it is useless and should be deleted? Maybe https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Template:Historic_artifact_start would be fitting?

Good questions, Mateusz Konieczny ))) --s-s-s (talk) 15:26, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Mateusz Konieczny: I forgot to request the deletion of the Russian translation as well.
- I think that Template:Historic_artifact_start were a good fit if it described a software which is not in use any more but had some impact. The Rails Port is still in use and under maintenance (and further development) although some parts were superseded by cgimap. I think that we do not have to keep an installation manual which could be derived by a sufficiently skilled FreeBSD administrator by reading the guide for Linux. In addition, guides no officially supported by the maintainers and those who write documentation for them tend to stay around without being maintained. Such content distracts from more recent guides. That's why I invest time into wiki cleanup by deleting or archiving pages about obscure software, historic setup guides etc. (see my recent contributions). --Nakaner (talk) 13:51, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
Delete it, of course. So much experience in this wiki with FreeBSD systems. --s-s-s (talk) 09:21, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
