Hi, the current description has been taken quite verbatim from the German page. Unfortunately, it contains a very misleading bit about ref=* that invites editors to freely invent its value. This has led to a lot of misuse of the tag in the German-speaking countries and also in Czechia. The purpose of ref=* is to document official reference numbers as they are found in the real world. In the context of cycle routes it is meant to reflect any IDs that one might see on maps or sign posts, like the EV + number for the routes of the Eurovelo network (e.g., EV9).
It is very clearly intolerable to have these invented value in the database. However, since this is a localized problem that also needs educating the local community (and I don't speak a single Czech word apart from the maiden name of my mother ;) I'll let you figure out what to do. I have started a discussion in the German-speaking community about this just a few hours ago so there is no plan how we deal with that either yet. KR from Vienna
Ahoj, aktuální popis byl převzat doslovně z německé stránky. Bohužel obsahuje velmi zavádějící část o ref=*, která vybízí editory, aby svobodně vymýšleli její hodnotu. To vedlo ke značnému zneužití značky v německy mluvících zemích a také v Česku. Účelem ref=* je zdokumentovat oficiální referenční čísla tak, jak jsou uvedena ve skutečném světě. V kontextu cyklostezek to má odrážet všechna ID, která by se mohla zobrazit na mapách nebo podepsat, jako je číslo EV + pro trasy sítě Eurovelo (např. EV9).
Je velmi zjevně netolerovatelné mít tyto vynalezené hodnoty v databázi. Jelikož se však jedná o lokalizovaný problém, který vyžaduje také vzdělávání místní komunity (a kromě rodného jména mé matky nemluvím ani jedním českým slovem;), nechám vás přijít na to, co dělat.
