Talk:Key:boat:parts

Instead of fragmenting things like this into a million different whatever:parts=* tags, why not just go with parts=yes/no/boat/whatever and then just use a colon value separator when needed? This would be an allowed use for it and it would 100% times simpler. Plus, people are already using the parts= tag for this exact thing. So your not abiding by the standard of integrating it with other already used tagging schemes. How is creating a million different namespace combinations for something that could be simply tagged with a single top level tag, and is already being tagged that way, following the KISS principle you keep going off about exactly? The whatever:parts=* tagging scheme is just a duplicate of an already existing top level tag. So, I suggest it be scrapped. Unless there's a sound, clear argument for why this is better then just going with parts=*. I doubt there is though. --Adamant1 (talk) 05:56, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
