seating=yes/no

I think I've tended to use a shorter tag seating=yes/no . Not quite as popular, but maybe we should document that. In fact I'm surprised how few mappers are using either of these:

indoor seating
seating

"seating" is a less specific meaning obviously, but useful for explicitly indicating if a cafe/fast_food has or has not got seats. For example when indicating that a cafe is just a little kiosk (See Talk:Tag:shop=kiosk#Coffee kiosk) I'd add seating=no. I suppose that could be both indoor_seating=no + outdoor_seating=no

shared/communal seating

Common in a food court the individual outlets don't have their own private seating, instead you can use the common shared seating. It's unclear if that would still be indoor_seating=yes or indoor_seating=communal. --Aharvey (talk) 11:04, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
