I understand the objective of the ticket around continents. However, countries and sub-structures are typically well defined. So, if JOSM folks argue those are no longer needed: what is the substitute then, please ? TXs and cheers Michael

Note - to request changes in JOSM it is preferable to comment on their bug tracker, rather than here. "what is the substitute then, please" for is_in:country=* and other administrative units - mapping country boundaries.
