closing_date

- It appears people are also using closing_date to indicate a feature will be closed in the future. Also as a reminder to mappers to check once the date has passed if it ended up closing.

  1. As you may remember, we discussed on the Polish forum that adding construction:end_date tag was a single user error. Mentioning this error in the article leads to an internal contradiction, because this tag is already at the bottom in the "tagging mistakes" section. What is your goal to put this in the article?
  2. You've changed the description, which completely changes the meaning of this tag - "a construction will be finished" and "a construction will be finished and feature will be opened" is not the same. I don't agree with this change - this tag is used when a construction is finished. Sometimes it can be the same day, sometimes there could be a short period between finishing a construction and opening something new, but usually is not the same day. maro21 18:54, 2 March 2022 (UTC)
As far as I know and as suggested by this tag name it is generally used and should be used for date of opening of road. But we can discuss it more widely, for example on tagging mailing list Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 10:58, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
My impression of that discussion was that people considered this tagging as valid (and note that I wanted and still prefer to get rid of it!) Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 10:58, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
I suggest to change "... and feature will be opened" to "... or a feature will be opened". maro21 20:10, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
