Denomination/religion

Sorry for not coming up with this during the proposal process. I think we need to explain how to treat religious institutions. For example, if a christian school schould be tagged with pedagogy=christian or religion=christian. -- 09:36, 3 November 2022 (UTC)

I guess you won't find that. And that is the problem: Religious schools often do see their religion as the foundation for their pedagogy. So, there should be advice how to handle such a school. If pedagogy should be left blank, for example, if it is a school that defines itself (and its pedagogy) as Christian or if the value should be duplicated. Ah, I see what you are saying. A school that advertises itself as offering a "Christian Education" for example; is that a pedagogy or a religion?

I might need to think on this; intuitively it doesn't feel like something that fits with the established "pedagogical systems", but I'm struggling to think of how to articulate that distinction. Diacritic (talk) 09:53, 3 November 2022 (UTC)

The most extreme solution would be to deprecate the religion key for schools etc. because it is not specific enough ("What is Christian about this school? The operator? The pedagogy? Both?") Discostu36 (talk) 10:33, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
