Description

Use this tag to describe to denote the educational theory (pedagogy) of an element. This tag is especially relevant for schools and kindergartens.

Many institutions adhere to pedagogical philosophies that differ from mainstream schooling in their local area. Schools and kindergartens which follow a particular pedagogy are often sought after by parents and prospective students. Typical examples of unique pedagogical schools include Waldorf (aka Steiner) schools, and Montessori schools. Specialist pedagogy schools are distinct from religious schooling, in which a school is associated with a particular religion=*.

This is not to be used to indicate a special needs school. A special need school can still use conventional methods or a pedagogic method of choice.

How to map

The key is applied to a node, area or relation which may hold a pedagogical philosophy, such as amenity=school, amenity=kindergarten, amenity=college, amenity=childcare, and so on.

Values

Many major pedagogical approaches are listed below, but it should not be considered exhaustive. For schools that use a blended pedagogical approach (such as a reform school which uses parts of multiple pedagogies), the hybrid value should be used.
