Fractional addresses

Apparently this import or the source dataset omitted fractions from addresses. [1][2] Not sure if it's a one-off or widespread issue. – Minh Nguyễn ^💬 19:04, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

The import that was done used city data, and I know city data included fractional addresses. But it was manually done in chunks over months by a large group of volunteers, so my guess is this is a one-off mistake. Having said that, it looks like it's wrong in the source data [3]. There are 2 buildings with the same address, 1303, and neither has a half house number in that field. Upon inspection, the HAFHOUSE field has an 'H' in it for the 1303 1/2 address. I assume this means this address is a half address. So I'm not sure now if others like this were left out of the import. Here the current values in the HAFHOUSE field, what they mean, and their counts: R (rear address/parcel) - 1994, H (half) - 1236, M (marine/boat slip) - 333, U (unmapped? had issues finding these) - 7. I cross referenced the spreadsheet from the open data link above with OpenStreetMap and with this interactive map from the city source [4] which gives lots of detailed layers. I think that these addresses were not imported correctly into OSM. If they have an apt/unit/condo number, those were imported correctly and are in a different field. But the data in the HAFHOUSE field seems to have been ignored (maybe from a lack of good metadata or to simplify things, I don't recall). So for now this is a known issue in Jefferson County/Louisville KY. If someone wants to comb through the data and fix the 3,570 addresses, please do. --Yourmapper (talk) 20:45, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
