Pecunia non olet

I would suggest a lot of nose pinching when taking money from NLnet (yes, I just happen to know how they got their original funds), and be careful that bad karma doesn't rub off on you (and keep a careful watch on your back). SimonPoole (talk)

Can you be more specific what exactly is problematic about them? I looked for example on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NLnet ( and looked through https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=NLnet&offset=&limit=500&action=history ), https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=nlnet+ethical+issues&ia=web https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=nlnet+source+of+funds&ia=web etc and I see nothing problematic (maybe I missed something?). The most problematic of what I see is funding blockchain-related projects, but more funded OSM projects reduce funding for other things, including blockchain-related things. And while there is some benefit to blockchain projects from being funded from the same source as something more legitimate and I consider receiving funding from something blockchain-related as negative, both effects are rather small. The WP article is missing the whole back story a good 25 years ago, so pre-wikipedia pre-blockchain etc, which isn't publicly documented in any case (but it -is- in my private mail archive). SimonPoole (talk) 11:52, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
Is it described anywhere at all in place where it is accessible? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 15:29, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
