Talk:OpenHistoricalMap/Tags/Key/license
Hi all!
I'm feeling unsure about dealing with licensed sources. I desccribe the background better in this diary entry: https://www.openhistoricalmap.org/user/BFritz0815/diary/52
In my region the best sources are provided by government institutions that want to be attributed (CC-BY-4.0). Other sources require share-alike (CC-BY-SA-4.0).
To get more orientation i'd like to have an overview of more tangible requirements/suggestions.
I'd like to create a collection of best-practices in regards to working with licensed sources. It seems like this page, above the "Common Values" chapter would be a good location. Please look at my proposed content (below) and let me know what you think. --Bfritz0815 (talk) 22:30, 2 March 2026 (UTC)

Yes, but you must avoid substantial reuse of the original data source | (It's complicated, you are on your own), at least attribution=* and license=CC-BY-SA-4.0 |
