Reminds me, that I should improve the "More categories" window in OSB. You could write those explanations to the "description" field of the categories ... Then it would be easier to keep it up to date and to translate it. And it would be shown (already now!) in the info-page of a category. -- Skunk 11:48, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Would it be possible to use this page to populate the description fields? This would mean that there is one place for the descriptions to be kept updated, but also information about all categories is in one place. Without this list there is no easy way for users to look through all the available categories to select ones they might find useful. Rostranimin 17:26, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

Great, I think this is really useful, whether we leave it here or move it to another place. For now I will add a link to this list on top of the 'More categories' page (with the next minor version update).

I had some ideas in the last couple of days, to use a wiki to create all the lists (with a simple syntax) and just include them in OpenStreetBrowser from there. It would make the (list of) categories more accessible and especially easier to edit. I think I would still keep the editor in the OSB itself as additional/main tool for the categories. -- Skunk 15:19, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
