Why not amenity or shop instead?

Thank you for proposing a tag for these features. I've tried to read about them a little in Spanish. Do you think these are really a kind of healthcare, like a dentist, podiatrist, physician or midwife? My thought is that they are more like a barber, nail salon or hairdresser. So the best tag would be amenity=*, though shop=* is not impossible. --Jeisenbe (talk) 14:50, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for your interest! Head lice can be a health problem, but no, head lice salons aren't clinics in any sense. They operate under different laws.
I proposed healthcare=* because I thought it would be more specific, and also to avoid overloading amenity=* with seldom-used keys. But if that's confusing I don't have any problem with amenity=*. --LisbethSalander (talk) 22:53, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
P.S.: I forgot there was another reason: healthcare=* and shop=* have default icons; but a new value amenity=head_lice_removal probably won't be rendered at all, at least for quite some time. --LisbethSalander (talk) 22:59, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
There is no default icon for healthcare=* on the OpenStreetMap Carto style (the Standard map layer on openstreetmap.org), though you are right that all shop=* values get a dot rendered, at the moment. This should not be a consideration. I feel that these features are closer to hairdresser's or barbers or nail salons, so I would prefer amenity=*. --Jeisenbe (talk) 01:08, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
