Two nearby buildings separated by other people's buildings

Let's say the Nerdsberg Community Center consists of two buildings, one at address 142, and another nearby across the street at 191.

If I tag both almost identically (except for the address), then user A who looks at the map will think he found it at 142. User B will think he found it at 191, both unaware of the other building.

No, they aren't called "Building X" and "Building Y" by the board of directors. They just happened to rent two buildings not stuck next to each other. How to tag? Should I use a "relation"?

Would it work to represent the two buildings as normal areas (no relations needed), and separately represent the "Nerdsberg Community Center" as a relation multipolygon containing the two building outlines as 'outer' members? --Tordanik 12:56, 14 July 2019 (UTC)

Relations counterintuitive

"This outline needs to be tagged with Tag:building=yes or another building value for compatibility with 2D-renderers." in the outline-part seems kinda odd, why would i add the building again when i just defined a relation for it... Martinum4 (talk) 22:54, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

There is only one building=*. This building should be a member of relation with the role 'outline'. maro21 19:18, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
