Specificity of Tag

Should this tag be preferred over, for example, the use of building=dormitory or something more specific than just saying a building is part of a university? Should this tag be used, if we don't know the purpose of the building but know that it is part of a university?--IanVG (talk) 20:46, 17 September 2021 (UTC)

For dormitories I use building=dormitory because there is no other "amenity" tag for it, like we have for universities. You can add operator=University of Something to it. And Yes to the second question. maro21 21:35, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
