denotation values values are orthogonal - as I understand denotation=urban would be "Tree in urban area, not covered by other values"

and how you are supposed to tag trees in avenue that are also for agricultural purpose?

or natural monument trees that are in avenue? (for bonus points, make these trees agricultural trees that are also in city so all denotations apply at once)

denotation=agricultural would be a tree that is planted and used for agricultural purposes (apple trees in an orchard for example), not any food tree along a street in a city.

Natural monument trees in an avenue are usually not in line with the other trees. They can be found in the middle of the sidewalk (see https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/11181855209).

Even then, monument=yes (used 5k times along with natural=tree) or monument=tree (used 326 times along with natural=tree) would be fine to use.

Both monument=yes and denotation=natural_monument have ~5k uses on trees so choosing either one of them should be fine. Dimitar155 (talk) 11:04, 25 August 2026 (UTC)
