Natural vs geological

The page makes a distinction between recent landslides to be tagged with natural=landslide and "historical" landslides to be tagged with geological=landslide. I see that there was once a reference to "peri-glacial" in this context but I'm not sure how that would have distinguished between recent and historical landslides. (See Periglaciation on Wikipedia.)

Are there clear guidelines that a mapper can use to determine whether natural=landslide or geological=landslide would be preferred?
