Rigorous update

Using uMap with the documentation dated ~2017 happened to be more difficult as expected. Regular inspection of the more extensive French version was helpful, but not easy due to my beginners knowledge of French. The version of uMap happened to be raised too (with minor and major changes). Regular time-consuming reverse engineering was necessary to determine all kind of details.

The talk page in the French main article (FR talk:UMap/Guide) gave valuable directives how to write new articles.

These facts have inspired me to write a Dutch version (my native language) and, if the article was not present in English, create the English version too. Not exactly according to the French proposal, but the intention is kept.

At the writing of this text a Dutch version is almost finished (33 articles). About 28 new English articles are also almost finished. 5 old style English articles, including the UMap/Guide, have to be updated to reflect the modified style AND the updated program behaviour and corresponding pictures.

Major overhaul completed for all subjects. There is still work to be done:

  • Description and examples of Remote data (based on french and german articles regarding Overpass)
  • links for "all subjects for..." must be completed
  • Diashow and zoom level
  • Q&A article, .....

My planning is that this will be finished coming weeks.
