One quick note on ownership: please do not simply mark everything in a National Park boundary as having public/national ownership. Many national parks in the United States have extensive privately owned inholdings within their boundaries; at some parks, entire geographic units are privately held. This is an important distinction that is often missed by the public, and has major management implications.
The NPS has authorized boundaries for all units available in shapefile format, which includes designation of general ownership types. NPS boundaries via IRMA
