canoe:SUP vs standup_paddleboard=*

I have introduced canoe:SUP because I was not aware that standup_paddleboard=* was somewhat in use. Imo the boat/paddling related keys are already now too many and too fragmented and a new top level key for just one sport would never be accepted as proposal. So despite some some usage (96 or so) of standup_paddleboard anything else is preferable. RicoZ (talk) 09:43, 10 September 2026 (UTC)

`standup_paddleboard` is used 500 times since many years all across the world, compared to the very recent, not discussed addition to the wiki of `canoe:SUP`, which has 2 proper uses as of today. The one about paddleboard rental? If nobody else cares to reply we can document the current state and let it be. Personally I find it ugly to have canoe:K1=*, canoe:K2=* canoe:rowboat=* but use standup_paddleboard as top level key fur SUP. RicoZ (talk) 21:37, 12 September 2026 (UTC)
