Delete

The text of this wiki is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 (CC BY-SA 2.0). (...) Some wiki pages may contain content which is licensed differently. (...) If we delete this template we will have to start deleting all aerial images from Bing, Esri, DigitalGlobe, Mapbox, most software screenshots, any software screenshot with a logotype in it, any registered trade mark, any photo of a person without a Model release, any photo of a place without a property release (Wikipedia/Commons don't require these last two documents/rights, but you need them if you use an image commercially in many cases). To my understanding, this wiki is not a wiki like Wikipedia intended primarily to share free knowledge, this wiki is intended to help and coordinate mapping actions. To do that we have to make use of "fair use" in some cases, Non-Commercial licenses in other. The images in this wiki are not included in OpenStreetMap map data. Thanks Zermes, that makes sense. It's a little confusing that each page also has the CC BY-SA logo without any qualifications. I'm not sure if there's a way to configure that, because it's inaccurate. By the way, there's {{Mapbox image credit}} specifically intended for the case of an aerial image that helps mappers contribute to OSM; we could create more templates like that if necessary. – Minh Nguyễn ^💬 01:45, 13 July 2019 (UTC)

Though in my opinion we should really, really strongly avoid files under such license and I would support complete ban on uploading such media Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 11:11, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
