I don't like this template

  • I don't like that the whole page gets a brown background.
  • I don't like the template parameters ... they make the template difficult to use since you have to remember them but most importantly splitting up the text across different fields also results in something that's very awkward to read.
  • I don't like that there's a start and an end template ... it's not even necessary since categories can just as well be placed at the start or middle of an article.

So I just created Template:Historic and I will be using it for marking pages as historic from now on.

I usually follow the suggestion to assume good faith but this is a bit to much given that you are not even new to this wiki. I do not like your template because it does not match the style that we created for this wiki. I do not like your approach to this topic. There were reasons why we did this this way. We can discuss about things and we can improve them together. Simply saying that you do not like it and do something else does not help anyone. --Tigerfell This user is member of the wiki team of OSM (Let's talk) 19:40, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
I can assure you that I act in good faith. I am sorry I should have worded my message more tactfully but I was fed up with the template being so difficult to use. I guess by style you're referring to Template:Wfmessage ... yeah I don't like that style either but I get that uniform styling is important and you are welcome to change the template to use Template:Wfmessage. I do think that marking historic pages as historic does in fact help people and I like to do that when I encounter such pages only that I cannot be bothered to add two templates and split the message into multiple parameters (hence my creation of Template:Historic) --Push-f (talk) 20:49, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
