This page collects various features of the Openstreetmap coastline that can cause problems for generalization. Some of these problems show up in my demo map, others are not visible at this scale.
Most of these are places where artificial channels are tagged as coastline or rivers are tagged as such a far distance upstream. For the purpose of generalization it is usually best to not carry the coastline tagging upstream beyond the first narrow of the river.
