Memorable situations:

  • Local bus company GÖVB, in service quality presentations (circa ~2014-2017), only uses lackluster circles around bus stops (300m,500m). But OSM has 96.84% [as of 2026-02] of housenumbers mapped in their service area, sometimes even exact main door positioning with accompanying footpaths, so anyway can give near-exact distances for every single house number.
  • Previous point also helps the routing for the pizza guy, postal service and rescue services.
  • City council member makes an inquiry in writing to the administration as to how much paved roads there are in the forest; a question that would have taken a trivial 2 minutes with JOSM+Overpass and thus would saved a lot of work in administration circles.
