I started contributing to OpenStreetMap in 2012 after attending a Mapping Party in Kampala, later on becoming an active member of the local community in Uganda, which has grown into a non-profit organization in Uganda where I previously served on the board.
Since 2015 I have been working with the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, where I currently serve as the Community Manager at the Eastern and Southern Africa Hub supporting the growth of OpenStreetMap communities in 22 countries in Northern, Central, Eastern and Southern Africa, through community support, capacity building, training, mentorship and grants.
I am an active member of OpenStreetMap Africa, a network of local communities across Africa working together to organize the bi-annual State of the Map Africa conference that happened in Kampala, Uganda in 2017 and in Abidjan, Ivory Coast in 2019 and online in 2021
I am a member of the OSMF Microgrants committee and a member of the Local Chapters and Communities Working Group as well as the HOT Community Working Group and the HOT Training Working Group.
I am also a member of the Wikimedia Community User Group in Uganda.
I am based in Kampala, Uganda
