- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas, that all the territory comprised in the following limits, to [??]. Beginning at the north east corner of Dallas County, thence east along the south boundary line of Collin County to the South East corner of same; thence south along the west boundary line of Hunt County to the south west corner of said Hunt County; then continuing South (2) two miles to a stake; thence west to the East boundary line of Dallas County; thence north, along the East boundary line of Dallas County, to the place of beginning; be and the same is hereby created a new County, to be called the County of Rockwall.
- An Act Creating the County of Dallas, Texas Legislature, 1st session, March 1846.
- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas that all the territory included within the following limits in Robertson and Nacadoches counties to wit. Beginning on the southern boundary line of Fannin County three miles east of the eastern boundary Peter's Colony grant, thence south thirty miles, thence west thirty miles, thence north thirty miles to the fannin county line, thence east with said line to the beginning, be and the same is hereby created a new county to be known and called by the name of Dallas.
