TIGER wiki page

Hi Dave.

I stuck your comment on the TIGER wiki page itself, because it seems fairly important and ... well at least that snippet of information is up-to-date.

That page is quite messy, which is a shame because it could be useful page for coordinating efforts on TIGER scripting work. I guess it's because there's been quite a few different people taking different approaches, not to mention the abandoned import process in the past. I have tried to tidy things up before, but I dont know enough about it.

So I just wanted to point out that you should feel free to edit the TIGER page, because it's by no means a carefully refined document! I'm sure you could make some improvements.

© DaveHansen?

Just zoomed in to check if some tiles I'd worked on had been updated here:

http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=47.6544&lon=-122.1538&zoom=14&layers=B0FT

And I see "© DaveHansen" on every street. Your page says you've been working on TIGER; is this vestigal debug data of some sort?

-Dave set up a mass import of the TIGER dataset from the US Census folks. This is the bulk of the mapping seen in the US. Correcting and updating this data is the next step in the project. --OneEye 19:38, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

TIGER/Line 2007 files released Mar 31, 2008

Dave, it looks like the Census folks have released the results of their accuracy improvement project ramping up for the next census. Are there plans to run another TIGER import script, or are we using the previous file release as OSM's baseline and not bothering to import future public domain releases of data? If there are plans to incorporate TIGER updates, how does that work with user edits? Is there any high-level discussion of this? --OneEye 19:38, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Garmin Map

Hello Dave. You just released a GARMIN map on the OSM_Map_On_Garmin/Download page. I've translated the entry and posted it on DE:OSM_Map_On_Garmin/Download. There is also an Italian version maintained by another user. This is just so you know where your map is referenced and to kindly ask you to do any edits, alterations and deletions on the other language versions too. Feel free to contact me if you can't do it alone due to translation issues. Best regards Chaos99 08:47, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
