Hi Endim8, regarding your revert of my revert: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/w/index.php?title=Key:contact:phone&diff=next&oldid=3061369 with your edit comment: Undo revision 3061369 by Dieterdreist (talk) describing it as a minority tag suggests that it's not a preferred tag, but it simply has less usages (increasing not dipping according to taginfo) because the approved and widely used contact: schema is newer. Describing it as "a minority tag" instead of just "a tag" is political, I invite you to have a deeper look: this tag was introduced as a duplicate to the already established phone=* in early 2010 (16 years ago). Since then, it never achieved the envisaged goal to take over phone=*, to the contrary it always remained a fraction of use and also grew slower. How many years do we have to wait until everybody acknowledges that the tag has failed? What is the advantage of having alternative tags for the same thing? You are correct that the "contact:" scheme is newer, but it is by no means "new", the tag contact:phone has its own page since March 2010, and the lower usage in 2026 has nothing to do with it being newer (look at the history graph). Calling this tag a "minority" tag is the least we can to do explain the situation, if I had my way we would deprecate it yesterday and migrate the data to phone=*.
