Mapping Workshop

Join us as we demo how to use OpenStreetMap to design, display and make your own maps. If you love maps and need quick and easy access to maps for fun, work, art or community activities we will show you how.

This workshop is being sponsored by The Central Scotland Green Network Community Fund administered by Glasgow & Clyde Valley Green Network Partnership with a focus on mapping woodlands and access to green spaces. This workshop will follow a mapping party in New Lanark, we will use this data to develop our skills on and get creative with.

11:00 Meet at Electron Club (upstairs in CCA) - greetings and introductions

11:10 Workshop 1: Beginner's guide to exporting and using OpenStreetMap for adding to documents, embedding in websites and graphic design

13:15 Lunch

14:00 Workshop 2: Advanced guide to importing OpenStreetMap into GIS, shapefiles, creating custom cartography and tiles for websites

16:30 Finish - go to bar to celebrate!
