In general we have the water area of a swimming_pool and the facility itself. The facility can be sport or fun oriented. A Way is drawn around the perimeter (including meadow, playgrounds and buildings).

By the Sea

Organized (public) outdoor bathing area in natural waters

Skavlöten badplats 2011.jpg

This is a area consisting of both water and land. A designated bathing area at any kind of water that is not a swimming pool or similar. There is some kind of open area connected to the water, often a beach.

To find the bath on a map it can be enough to label one element, so that an icon can be generated. Add the general properties of the bathing area to the same element, i.e. if there are toilets, access for disabled, etc.

Tagging of the element:

leisure=beach (proposal)
+ name=*
+ toilet=yes/no
+ shower=yes/no
+ pets=yes/no

Alternative tagging:

amenity=public_bath (proposal)
+ bath:open_air=yes (in the public_bath proposal)
+ name=*
+ toilet=yes/no
+ shower=yes/no
+ pets=yes/no

Fully served (public) outdoor bathing area

See leisure=beach_resort
Beach resort.jpg

The beach resorts is distinguished from a bathing beach by the full-fledged service that can include: rental services for sunshades, cabins, lockers and even small cottages. Area can include bars, restaurant, parking lots and small shops. They can be served by lifeguards.

That is, beaches can be "upgraded" to beach resorts.

Tagging of the element:

leisure=beach_resort
+ name=*
+ fee=*
+ toilet=yes (implied)   amenity=toilet
+ shower=yes (implied)   amenity=shower
+ pets=yes/no
+ amenity=bar/amenity=restaurant/amenity=cafe/amenity=kiosk
+ amenity=shop, with shop=*
+ supervised=yes/interval (proposal) For life guard

others

For the most basic needs of getting yourself clean you might find amenity=shower in some places.

Bath house

See amenity=public_bath
Széchenyi Baths 2010 01.JPG

An establishment where you can go and take a bath. It must have something more than just showers, but I may be anything from bath tubs up to swimming pools. Large bath houses can have outside baths. A fee may be charged for entry. If membership is needed and that can be seen as a hinder set access to private.

Tagging of the element: Tagging of the building, and if present also the outside premises with pools.

amenity=public_bath
+ name=*
+ fee=*
+ access=yes/private
+ toilet=yes (implied)
+ shower=yes (implied)
+ amenity=cafe/amenity=kiosk
+ supervised=yes/no (proposal) For life guard
