This page describes tags for the "floor" of 3D buildings, which can be seen from the outside. It has meaning in cases, when building or building:part has tag min_height or building:min_level. Note that the word "floor" is more commonly associated with the surface you walk on, but in this case we are referring to the floor of a three-dimensional object, which means the lower surface of building or part of building, which can be seen from the outside when looking upwards (more commonly known as the ceiling)

Germany
As of 2025[update] there are around 90 uses of this key in Germany. Almost all of them are used to indicate the surface material of the base or ground, mostly in combination with amenity=shelter, some few in combination with outdoor areas in parks or gardens.
