The tag firepit=* is used to specify if a feature has an outdoor leisure=firepit, a dedicated place to hold an open fire. This is commonly used on outdoor recreation features like tourism=camp_pitch and tourism=picnic_site.

Use openfire=* to tag whether starting a fire is actually allowed. To indicate the presence of an indoor or partially enclosed fireplace, use fireplace=* instead.

Values

  • firepit=yes: A fire pit exists, which may or may not be mapped separately.
  • firepit=no: A fire pit is not present.
