openfire=yes means that an open fire is allowed on the place. openfire=no specifies that open fires are not permitted at the feature.

There may be designated places for fire, such as a ring of stones, a fire pit, grill or bbq, or visitors may be required to bring a grill or bbq with them.

Alternatively, a firepit or permanent bbq grill can be mapped as a separate feature with leisure=firepit or amenity=bbq.

For a permanent fireplace with chimney see fireplace=*

How to map

Add the tag openfire=yes/no to a node or area that is also tagged with a main feature tag such as tourism=camp_site, tourism=caravan_site, tourism=camp_pitch, leisure=picnic_table, leisure=park, tourism=picnic_site etc.
