Describe the local challenge your project is addressing

In this section please describe in detail the challenge that your project addresses. We recommend your response be a minimum of 200 words and a maximum of 400 words.

Street children are among the problem which included worldwide in particularly at developing country which makes children to be denied different children rights. In Tanzania the problem of street children is among the problem which face many city and region in particularly in Rukwa region at Sumbawanga Municipal. As according to the report of Rukwa region office show that the Sumbawanga municipal are the council which have higher number of the street children as compared to other council within the region and the large percentage of the street children are come from outside council. Also according to the report of Orphanage centre found at Sumbawanga municipal in 2010 show that there is increase of numbers of child to be recruited from the street by 60% as compared to other year.

As the result of the children being coming from different area that lead them to being live life like hell I Sumbawanga municipal .According to the assessment which done by the department of community development under the Sumbawanga municipal in cooperation with the police at Rukwa region at 2018 show that many children run from their home and from their parents and Guardian and come to Sumbawanga Municipal and live in the unfinished building, market, bus station. As the increase of the street children in the street lead into child to be denied different rights which in one way or another can be access when they are at home and this child rights are education rights, freedom of expression, rights to be loved. Also due to being in street it easily for them to face gender based violence like sexual harassment, child labor, child pregnancy, discrimination and rape

This should include: how you will contribute to help solve the local challenge you are addressing, what you aim to achieve with funding, what volume of mapping you plan to complete and how, and the number individuals are you aiming to include in mapping activities. This proposed project will contribute to solve the problem of street children through the following, Firstly, through analyzing the mains sources which influence the increase of street children, identified and mapping mains sources Place where Street children came from and recommendation from the stakeholders towards the ways forwards on addressing the problem. Also, through data collected in developing the appropriate and comprehensive advocacy strategies on addressing the all issues accelerating increase of the street children in Rukwa region through involving the different stakeholder’s deals with addressing children problem.

Moreover the proposed project will contribute to solve local challenges through conducting mapping on areas with high street children and presenting the data collected to government via local government at Rukwa region as key stakeholders which will provide key support towards addressing street children problem. The Vijana Pambana Pata Maendeleo Rukwa (VIPAMARU) under the proposed project aims to rise an awareness to the community about the sources, challenge and reason for the increase of street children in Sumbawanga municipal for the recently year; Also project aims to bring together children stakeholder and establish the strategies for reducing the effect, sources and challenge which face the street children as the result of report prepared .Also the project aim to facilitate the children to access their rights as the result of amplifying their voice to the public through the fact collected and published The volume of mapping planned to complete in project implementation are the 6 (six) months, This will be achieved through following the project work plan , conducting frequently internal meeting towards project and proper using of fund as per approved budget.

The numbers of individuals who will involves in mapping activities are 4 (fours) staff includes Project coordinator, Monitoring and evaluation officer/Data collector, Field officer and Gender officer.

Describe your sustainability plan

In this section please describe how your activities will continue post-funding. If you are applying for funding to purchase equipment, explain who will store/use the equipment you purchase, and if you have long term sustainability plans for your community's development. We recommend your response be a minimum of 200 words and a maximum of 400 words.

Our activities will continues after post funding through threes approaches,

Firstly , Through community engagement and children stakeholder engagement in the different mapping activities , It is true in ensuring project sustainability it is important to engage communities or beneficiaries to feel as owners of project which will pay their effort on ensuring project sustainability after post funding.

Secondly, through creating the committees of project implementation which will be enhanced capacity on ensuring after post funding, continues with activities undertaken during project lifetime in cooperation with organization and others partners involved in project implementation during project lifetime.In this will be working under established strategy which come as result of report prepared

Thirdly, Through mainstreaming all project activities and data collected on project implementation to local government agendas, through this will facilitate the government undertake or continues with activities even after post funding to includes all activities in specific department in relevant. Also as the result of government being part of project implementation will be easily to continues where the project ended and hence bring further expected result after post funding

The project will purchase equipment GPS coordinator, Tablet and Computer, this will be used for even after project funding in undertaking and performing the different mapping activities


What are your community defined project goals, and how do you define project success?

This can include: setting goals such as "we will train X number of new mappers", "we will register as a legal entity", or "the data will be used by X", and why these goals are important to your community such as "we intent to be legally registered so that we can receive more grant funding in the future", "we intend to engage X number of women in mapping activities so that we can empower local women" or "we want to build a partnership with X so that our data will be used and trusted".   1. Organizing inception meeting on introducing the project implementation to 30 participants for I day at Sumbawanga Municipal.
  2. To recruit 5 women and 5 other marginalized group (Youth and people with disability) in mapping activities .So this is important in engaging them so to increasing their participation and give power to , on project activities implementation on mapping activities.
  3. Organizing training on mapping activities to 10 new mappers for 10 days at Sumbawanga Municipal. This activity will be organized in cooperation with the government leaders
  4. Conducting mapping activities on main sources of street children at Rukwa region for 30 days with 15 participants. This activity will be done under cooperation of the organization and the government leaders like police and the community welfare officers under the community development department
  5. Organizing the data cleaning, data entry, data analysis and then report writing as the result of mapping activities for 5 days with 8 participants at Sumbawanga Municipal.
  6. To engage and build partnership with Community Radio Station (CRS’s) and orphanage care centre in increasing credibility of project data. This is important in engaging with the community radio station and orphanage centre s it will facilitate easy the sustainability of the project due to being among the stakeholder which deals with the street children

What are your community's long term goals?

This can include: where you see your community in five years time, how you want your data to be used, future partnerships you'd like to establish, or how you would like your community to grow (or not!).   • The community vision is To see there are no problem of street children and children protecting from gender based violence. The project want see community in five years time are community which involving in ensuring child benefiting and accessing their rights and duties and do not face with any forms of violence.
  • The data organization will want to be used by other stakeholders on identifying further problem and coming up with the solution concerning the problem identified and also identifying and doing furhte research as concerning the street children which will help to improve the life and solve the challenge which the street children are passing through .
  • The organization want to establish the partnership with the other stakeholder especially which deals with the children in the rukwa region as among the establishing the network which will be under the street children committee for further sustainable the post funding project
  • The future partnership that the projects like to establish with the community is establishing children committees in each street which will involve local government leaders and some community members in areas which show are original with street children on addressing conducting progressives tracking to family with problem with children running at home.


List the tools you intend to use during your project and why

Please describe which tools you plan to use to collect, update, clean, or store you data and why. The tools that will be used during the project implementation are, Tablets and computer which will be used in the mapping activities during project work. This tools are important especially during the mapping process due to the fact that it will facilitate easily data stored due to data being taken through using the specially software which can help to store and conserve environment the tools are tablet, Also other reason are tools are easily to carry and do not need more space to carry one and can be used by other activity like picture taking for project purpose and used as the WiF router in the office for the internet use Computer is another tool which expected to be used by organization and this tool will be used by organization in different uses like report writing, data cleaning, data updating .This computer will be portable computer which are PC in which staff can easy carry to the site Also the organization will buy the bag for carrying the compute and the tablets which will be published the special word as the identity for the mapper who will be at the field for collecting data and for al staff who will be involved in the project for one way or another, also there will be printed t- shirt.



Explain how you plan to share your stories

This can include: how you will publicise your news, where you will collect media content, how you will use social media channels, and if you will reach out beyond your immediate network to share your stories. The organization will publicize our news towards project implementation, Firstly Through writing news/stories identified in project and publicise the news through social media include Radio, Newspapers and social media. Also through sharing stories and news from organization project work direct. The project/organization will collect the media content to are site where the project implemented , Also through interviewing in beneficiaries as well who involved direct to the project works, activities, events as well the intervention towards implementation of project. The organization will use social media channels facebook, instragram and twitter through posting project works undertaken, online events, posting updates of project implementation and funding as well successfully stories towards project implementation. Also the organization will summarize the report prepared into the simple books which are easily to carry and easily to read then easily to understand what is all about the street children and also it can be read by all kind of the people of different age Moreover organization will use Community Radio Station (CRS’s) in sharing stories towards project implementation found in Rukwa region to reach high numbers of project to our stories publishes as well organizing the radio program towards project. And this activities will be done through all communities found at the region.

Partnerships

Successful applications will demonstrate one or more partnerships with a local data user. Priority will be given to applications for which the data has been requested by a partnering organisation, or where the partner organisation has expressed interest in collecting the data for a specific use or intervention. Example partners include local non-government organisations (NGOs), community based organisations (CBOs), local governments, companies, universities, schools, and other academic institutions.

It is important that the data you generate during the project is useful, and that it will be used to advance humanitarian and/or development challenges locally. In this section, please include: if the data you will be collecting has been requested by a partnering organisation, if there is an established formal relationship with the partnering organisation, if there is an existing MoU between you and the partnering organisation, and how long have you been working with the partnering organisation. If your organisation or community is going to be the data user, please describe how you will use the data, and how it ties in with your organisation's work. Vijana Pambana Pata Maendeleo Rukwa (VIPAMARU) is going to be data user generated from the project implementation, The organization will use data in the in three ways, Firstly , Through development advocacy on factor accelerating the street children in different community institutional particularly , family , society , community and religious on increasing the effort toward paying their role reducing the problem for street children.

Secondly, Organization will used data through presenting the finding obtained during the project implementation to different child stakeholders within Rukwa region and outside Rukwa as whole outside Tanzania to increase efforts towards increase effort of addressing the problem of increases of street children in Sumbawanga Municipal. The Thirdly, Organization will used data through develop the compressive strategy with all orphanage centre on dealing the key sources influence increase of street children from origin areas mapped with high increase of street children in Rukwa region.

The data used in it ties with our organization’s works due to fact organization deals with youths intervention which ensuring modeling children as well addressing and eliminate challenges facing the children up to their adulthood development, Also Organization deals with addressing all gender based violence facing children in family context and in formal and informal learning institutional centre


Describe any other partnerships you plan to mobilise or establish for the purpose of the project

The partners towards the implementation of this proposed project are Women Change Initiatives (WCI) under this partnership towards project implementation partners will play the role on providing sensitization to women and girls groups on their participation of project implementation. Also as the partnership will be building the partnership with other stakeholders who in one way or another can play great roles concerning street children like faith based organization and other individual stakeholders who have interested into the child issue.

Also organization will collaborating with orphanage center which found at Rukwa region which are Bethania Future and hope and St, Peter House in supervising mapping activities in the field. This partnership are more aware concerning the children especially the street children due to being living with them and taking care them .This are important because will help in sustainability of the project Also another partner the organization will work with is Community Radio Station (CRS’s) and local government authorities found at Rukwa region in participating in the different intervention undertaken in the project implementation which play role in some mapping activities and publicize stories of project. This will help in facilitating easy data collection and easy cooperation from the community concerning the data collection and awareness rising easy to the community especially.

Inclusivity

Successful applications will include a developed strategy for the inclusion of women, girls, and marginalised groups in mapping activities. This includes the number of women, girls or marginalised groups you plan to engage, and the way in which you plan to interact with them.

How will you ensure that your project activities are inclusive?

The proposed project will engage women, girls as well other marginalized communities through the whole cycle of the project especially from the project inception up to the monitoring and evaluation even in the sustainability plan these group will be involve in one way or another as either direct beneficiary, implementer or either indirect beneficiaries .these group will be involve in conducting sensitization to community on their engagement in mapping activities, Also through giving the priority the women, girls as well other marginalized community on mapping activities. Moreover project will involve women and girls or other marginalized community through training involvement to be undertaken on project, and Involvement in mapping activities in the different place.

The proposed project will involves 5 women , 3 girls and 5 marginalized groups including (youth and people with disability) which includes 10 , This will be involved through getting training on mapping activities to be involved in field , This will be planned to be engaged at to mapping the areas with high street children at Rukwa region.

Also some of the women and the other marginalized group will be part of the committee which will be overseen the project and advising he project and will be responsible or ensuring he project are sustainable even ate funding ended in the future and they will be responsible either in mobilizing other income which will be facilitate the performed activity.

Expansion

Successful applications will show how communities intend to grow community engagement. This includes a practical approach on how many new mappers you aim to recruit and how they will be involved in community activities. Priority will be given to communities that also include a plan for ongoing engagement beyond the grant period. If this is not relevant to your project, please explain why.

Explain how you plan to expand your mapping community

In this section, please include: your approach to recruiting new mappers, how will you engage new mappers, how many new members you plan to recruit, and how will you retain community members throughout the duration of project and beyond. We recommend your response be a minimum of 200 words and a maximum of 400 words.

The proposed project will use approach to recruiting new mappers during project implementation through community engagement approach, through selecting some of community members participated in project to be enhanced capacity on conducting mapping during intervention of project. Organization will be engaged new mappers in project activities which are undertaken to learn on mapping activities on enabling to acquire skills and knowledge to undertake intervention beyond the project; The project target to recruit 50 new members’ mappers which will includes 20 women, 20 girls and 10 others marginalized community.

These recruitments will be done through advertising the recruitment process and will be open competition for those who want to be part of the mapping team .This process will be include al kind of the member whom we desire to have in the time and having different experts for helping the team during the mapping process.

Moreover the project will enhanced all new members mappers on performing the different activities assigned by project as well integrating them in orphanage care centre and local government authority on performing their duties during of project and beyond with cooperation organization. This process will facilitate easly new member to get exposure concerning the street children and hence bring the expected result as project intended to achieve.

The organization in establishing the relationships with OSM communities for the purpose of project plan to use different approach .Among of the approach are using the project as the tools for building the relationship with the youth mappers and also using the other media like social media and traditional media for building the relationship with them.

The organization plan to establish the relationship with the youth mappers which will be easily facilitating the activity especially for both child and youth themselves .These relationship will be established during the project implementation even after the project implementation will be maintained.

This relationship will be established through using both social media like whatsaap, facebook and Instagram where the large percentage of the youth found and are easily interactive .Also the relationship will be established through using the physical meeting which youth will be participating in one way or another especially project activity where the youth will be among the beneficiaries direct or indirect.
