1. New Contributor Guidelines

Thanks to User:Tordans for help with the following new guidelines:

Currently Tobias and Kyle help in the co-maintainer role.

Next step: Go through issues / PRs and close stale ones and PRs with `waitfor-consensus` status.

Next step: Roll out similar guidelines also in the iD repo as well.

2. Google Summer of Code 2024 Project

Mattia worked this summer on a GSoC project: Panoramax is integrated as a new street level imagery provider. Basic implementation is already in the development branch. Currently still beeing worked on: Convert the date filter to a year slider, keyboard shortcut to toggle the streetlevel photo layers.

General Feedback/Discussion

  • A release of iD is in the pipeline for the upcoming days
  • improving tagging schema for tags with :left/:right suffixes -> idea to change fields from fields+moreFields to groups of fields, which would be more flexible. Tobias is working on a UI wireframe. – More at https://github.com/openstreetmap/id-tagging-schema/issues/1202
  • new tagging proposal in progress: change to cycleway:both tag to tag both sides of a road. Proposal — Discussion
